What data do we collect?
Health and wellness data you enter in the app (such as symptoms, nutrition and wellbeing information) is stored locally on your device only. The app itself never transmits this data to us or to any third party. If you use device backup (such as iCloud or Google backup), your device's operating system may include the app's data in your backup. This is controlled by you and governed by Apple's or Google's terms.
We also collect limited non-health data to operate the service:
- Subscription and purchase data — processed by RevenueCat Inc. on our behalf. This includes your device identifier and purchase history, used solely to verify and manage your subscription.
Why do we collect data?
Subscription data is used solely to verify and manage access to paid features. We do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting tools in our apps. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with Apple or Google through your device settings, we may receive anonymised crash reports from them, which we use solely to fix technical issues. We never sell your data to third parties.
Third-party recipients
We share limited data with the following processors acting on our behalf:
- RevenueCat Inc. (USA) — subscription management
- Apple Inc. / Google LLC — app distribution and payment processing
Data transfers to the USA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.
Legal basis
Health data you enter in the app is processed only on your device and is not accessible to us. If we introduce features that transmit health data from your device, we will ask for your explicit consent before doing so (GDPR Article 6.1(a) and Article 9.2(a)). Processing of subscription data and crash reports is based on our legitimate interest in operating and maintaining the service (GDPR Article 6.1(f)).
Retention
Health data stored on your device is under your full control and can be deleted by uninstalling the application. Copies included in your device backup are kept until you delete the backup. Subscription data is retained for as long as necessary for the stated purpose.
Children
Our services are intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@algovitae.com.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@algovitae.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) at imy.se.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a resident of California, you may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal data we collect, the right to delete your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal data. Contact: hello@algovitae.com
