What data do we collect?
Health and wellness data you enter in the app (such as symptoms, nutrition and wellbeing information) is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.
We also collect limited non-health data to operate the service:
- Subscription and purchase data — processed by RevenueCat Inc. on our behalf. This includes your device identifier and purchase history, used solely to verify and manage your subscription.
- App usage and analytics data — collected via Mixpanel Inc. This includes events such as which screens you visit and how you progress through onboarding. No health data is included.
- Crash reports — we may use a crash reporting tool (such as Sentry) during beta and testing periods to collect technical error data. This may include device type, OS version and anonymised stack traces.
Why do we collect data?
Analytics and crash data are used solely to improve the stability and usability of our services. Subscription data is used to verify access to paid features. We never sell your data to third parties.
Third-party recipients
We share limited data with the following processors acting on our behalf:
- RevenueCat Inc. (USA) — subscription management
- Mixpanel Inc. (USA) — product analytics
- Apple Inc. / Google LLC — app distribution and payment processing
Data transfers to the USA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.
Legal basis
Processing of health data entered in the app is based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6.1(a) and Article 9.2(a)). Processing of analytics and subscription data is based on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service (GDPR Article 6.1(f)).
Retention
Health data stored on your device is under your full control and can be deleted by uninstalling the application. Analytics and subscription data is retained for as long as necessary for the stated purpose, and deleted within 24 months of your last activity.
Children
Our services are intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@algovitae.com.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@algovitae.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) at imy.se.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a resident of California, you may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal data we collect, the right to delete your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal data. Contact: hello@algovitae.com
